If a suit is made well with quality fabric, it should look as good in two years as it did when you first bought it. Cleaning a suit too often can significantly reduce its longevity. "Once-a-season" is usually sufficent, with brushing and pressing inbetween. If you have touch-up pressings done at home, use a soft, dry cloth between the iron and suit fabric to prevent shiny spots.
A suit should not be worn on consecutive days. Like a pair of shoes, it needs at least one day's rest inbetween wearings. Empty the pockets, hang the suit on a sturdy hanger and brush lightly to remove dust and dirt. When placing the suit in your closet, be sure to leave space between other suits to allow adequate air circulation.
Practice these few, simple tips and your suits will look "good as new" for longer than you imagined.
